You're FAR from being the only person afraid of the Internet. Technophobia is pretty darn common now-a-days.... particularly among us seniors.
No it isn't as popular as The fear of spiders, or Ophidiophobia, Agoraphobia, Cynophobia or the most common of the phobia's.... public speaking. But it's still big. Modern day Luddites are everywhere. Like all phobia's.... you can get help, or just use a little self-help, or just learn to tolerate the inconvenience and/or discomfort of not being able to go where you wish and do what you want to do.
But for people NOT afraid of climbing ladders (Acrophobia).... telling them scary stories about falling (or posting links).... isn't going to alter their tolerance to the phobia. The same can be said of Technophobia. These are internal, emotionally generated feelings. They are NOT data driven conditions.
But you already know that.
