Best Wall Switch Replacement Module
« on: February 03, 2018, 11:46:05 AM »

I'm looking for a recommendation for a replacement wall switch unit. The new WIFI unit is great but I have two units that are about 95% functional. The repeat command use to fix this but I see no way to add another sunset timer so I'm going to replace them. I have already replaced a lamp module with a PLM04 and now it's 100%. The other unit is a Wall Switch for a outside lighting. I'm looking at the XPS4 because of AGC. But open to any other wall switch recommendation that can improve reliability. Note already have coupler, filters and boosters. Most of my modules are over 30 years old so I'm fine replacing it if I can get to 100%.

I have both the XPS4 and WS469 in use and am 100% happy with both.

Both the WS469 and XPS4 are relay type modules.
Both require a Neutral power connection in the electrical box.
If the original switch didn't use a Neutral. You may want to see that one is available in the switches electrical box.

Just want to close the loop I installed a XPS4.  The switch is working out great :)%.  I'm really impressed with the new design switch much better touch and feel than the old ones. They really did a class job with the screw contacts on the backside.

This is inspired me to add a few more, because of the poor touch I never use them on wall  switches that we would use inside the house. Do any of the dimmer switches have the improved touch and AGC.  Even know with LED lighting maybe relays is the way to go.

All the new modules and switches have AGS I believe but I'll try to find out for sure.
