Can someone speak to compatibility between the older DS7000 Security System and the newer SecureLink consoles?

I have to replace a SH624 security remote and X10 does not offer it any longer. So I wonder if their newer security remotes would work with the older security console? It seems older window/door and motion detectors do indeed work with the SecureLink console.

 Although I don't have the newer security console these use the x10 rf protocol. The web sales page states:

You have to teach the console what signals to watch for.

The presently sold KR32A should work with your DS7000.
But many features found in the SH624 are gone.
Like Arm Home or Arm Away choice.
Local On off buttons for the module address buttons on the older remote.

KR32 Manual:
Pressing ARM on the Keyfob remote always arms in the AWAY mode. This arms
all Door/Window Sensors AND Motion Detectors, but arms them instantly.
I believe the light On Off Button on the remote.
Should control the security light address. In the DS7000.

I have tested the other way around but not later remotes on the DS7000.
As I never had one to test.

The SH624 was included with the some of the earlier SC1200 Security kits.
Some function buttons worked differently.
Depending on time switch being set to MAX or MIN.

Do the newer KR32A remotes allow for a delay, leaving the house after arming, such as the SH624s?

I doubt it as it has limited features over the SH624
Manual for the KR32A attached. Says Arm in the Away Mode with the remotes Arm button, So it may depend on how you console handles it.
Instructions are for the DS1200 new console but you should get a rough idea from the description and photo.

There are some SH624 remotes listed on Ebay.
Some described as used and 26 as new.

I guess what remains for me is the slight chance of someone here operating the older DS7000 console with the KR32A remote. Only they would know if pressing Arm Away allows 1 minute exiting with the DS7000 console.

b0b99 offered to send you a replacement remote. Why don’t you take him up on his offer. It would quickly resolve your dilemma.

Those X10 security codes are quite simple to sniff out. Once you have them you can replicate a remote on your Android phone. In fact I created a virtual control panel in Homegenie a while back that would allow you to add any delay duration you wish. I extended the feature further by tapping in to the key pad on the security console with an Arduino allowing full control of the console keypad too. Just did it out of curiosity as I wouldn’t use an X10 security system to secure my property for obvious reasons.

They are also still available on auction sites as new.
If you have one. Just try it out and see how it acts.
Though the KR32A is much more compact. If you wanted to put in in your pocket.
I did see the messaging documented in a paper showing all the messaging formats.

Did a test with both a KR32A and SH624.
In AHP.
The KR32A sends an Arm Instant message.
The SH624 sends an Arm Instant message when set to MIN.
The SH624 sends an Arm Delayed message when set to MAX.
For both Home and Away choices.

I guess they are expecting one to arm the system as they are out the door with the KR32A rather than getting a 1 minute delay prior to arming.
