Though my HA setup hasn't grown in the last year I have been playing with different methods of Alex/Google control.
I've handed all Alexa/Google X10 control over to my Broadlink Pro however I still have a ESP-01 configured for some important X10 Alexa control as a backup incase the Broadlink fails.
I started to play with a HomeGenie mini
https://github.com/genielabs/homegenie-mini a bit more then thought about creating my own smaller version using the same esp32 board this currently will do what the ESP-01 board does, but has much more potential. It uses a different method of connecting to your WiFi network (has it's own IP for configuration so no button is required)
