Hello All, This is my first post here. I'm looking for help with an X-10 TM751 transceiver problem.
I have an existing simple x-10 network, consisting of one TM751 transceiver and two AM466 Appliance modules, that has been functioning perfectly for 14 years. I control the two modules with a SS13A remote switch. In the area where we live, we have been prone to frequent power outages. Sometimes (but rarely) after the power is restored, one of the three modules will fail. In order to be prepared for any failure, I keep a couple of backups for the TM751 and the AM466 modules.
I recently purchased two additional TM751 transceivers as backups. I decided to test the modules to make sure they work.
Here's what I have found. I remove my current good TM751 module and replace it with one of the new (Spare) TM751 transceiver configured to the same house code. The SS13A remote works perfectly from anywhere in the house with the existing current TM751 transceiver. But when I swap in one of the new TM751 transceivers, I find that the Remote control will only work when I am within on foot of the transceiver. BOTH NEW transceivers have this problem. When I put the existing current TM751 back in place, the SS13A remote again works perfectly from anywhere in the house.
Has there been a change to the range of the TM751 to receive signals from the SS13A remote? Or, are the TM751 transceivers I purchased faulty and I need to return them?
Thanks for any help you experts can provide.
