Trying to hang in here, but need help...
« on: July 24, 2005, 11:32:01 PM »

I've used AH v1.4 with CM11A for long time,
no problems until recently. Based on
information provided here, we will NOT be
going to the AHP/CM15A system soon.

AH program has stopped recognizing my COM
Ports altogether. In Properties, all four
COM Ports are Greyed out, and not
selectable, therefore, NO communication
with CM11A or any other devices.

Downloaded and installed AH1.4 from X10
site to another computer, and cannot select
COM Port 1, which is the only COM Port on
my computer. Without quick resolution of
this problem, we are finished with X10.

BTW, have done system restore, and Device
Manager indicates Port working properly.
Can't find another 9pin device around to
prove it, but on both computers? Clearly
software prob. Thanks

Are you using Windows XP? It is known to
have problems with the AH program and comm
ports. Mine would disconnect or not be found
from time to time.

Yes. Both are XP. Any solutions? Has been a
couple of weeks now. Timers, etc. which
were already downloaded are still running,
but computer can't talk to CM to make
changes or additions.

It's the Windows XP.

I ordered the upgrade, which uses USB
instead of comm ports. Works fine now.
Much better interface, too.
