Hi,

I was wondering if there was anyway of
controlling split system wall mounted air
conditioners (hard wired) using X10 modules
and if so could someone please supple a
wiring diagram. I still want to be able to
adjust temp using air con remote but would
like to be able to switch them on/off
remotely.

Thanks

Whats the voltage and current?
X10 Pro has wire in appliance modules for
120V 15 amp (XPFM).

X10 has 220V 15 amp and 20 amp appliance
modules (HD243 and 245) which might work if
you wanted to put sockets and plugs on your
units. You could also use a standard
appliance module to control a 110V coil
contactor, large enough to control the air
conditioners.

BLinkey,
I will be perfectly honest with you.... I am
sure we could do it with some X10 stuff but I
would not be able to sleep at night if I had
my system being controlled by my AHP
system... Don't get me wrong..I have AHP and
it works very well but I also have a nice
Geothermal heat pump A/C system (works
electrically just like most A/C systems) and
I would never put AHP in charge of being able
to turn it on or off...OR even do a
thermostat adjustment... maybe one day..but
not now.. I have a spare computer that would
wreak havoc on the system everytime I turned
it on... I could filter everything but soon
I'd be tossing in my sleep wondering if the
filters were doing their jobs too... smile..
Just thought you may want to hear another
opinion.

SteveRF
