As a newbie to X10 products I would like
see if the following scenerio is
feasible ... have an entry light turn on
(at 50%) at dusk and off at dawn.  When
motion is detected the entry light
brightens (to 100%) and then a camera is
activated.  The camera would send images to
a PC, with an XP operating system, for
recording on disk.  So far I've determined
that I need a MS14A motion detector, X10
camera, XM10A Remote Power Supply, WS467
Wall Switch Module, TM751 Transceiver,
Active Home Pro automation software and a
CM15A USB cable.  Will this work or am I
missing something?  There may also be a
need for a Smarthome Filterlinc and a
Signalinc modules for power line coupling
and line filtering.  Thank you in advance

Looks like you've done your research. I think
the only thing you're missing is the iWitness
Plug-in for ActiveHome Pro, which will
receive the video from your camera, and save
still images or record video.

Don:  You shouldn't need the TM751 as the
CM15A will act as a transceiver.  Also, you
will probably want the SmartMacros plug-in so
that you can program it only turn on the
light at night.

As far as the FilterLinc and SignalLinc are
concerned, if you are only planning on
controlling only one light, you might be able
to get away without them, especially if the
WS467 and the CM15A are on the same
electrical phase.  I don’t recommend the
SignalLinc Coupler/Repeater since people have
reported it not playing nicely with the
CM15A.  This SignalLinc Passive coupler works
fine though.  Also, Automated Outlet sells
the X10 Pro XPPF 5A Filter for $14.99, which
is cheaper than the 5A FilterLinc.

must be missing something on the PC side.
So thanks again.

Roger H.  Thanks for your input.  I will
eventually have more than one entry that I
want to monitor so a coupler may be
needed.  Thanks for the info on the filters
too.  I've already starting looking at
SmartMacros -- so thanks for that
suggestion too.
