Hawkeye constantly sends B6?
« on: December 05, 2005, 08:08:52 PM »

Hey guys,
I have a Hawkeye that when I take the
batteries out and it resets to A1, it seems
to work.  I reset it to B6 and the dang
thing starts constantly sending B6 On.  I
think the sensor is hosed, but it just
sounded weird to me.  Anyone ever see
anything like that before?

I'll play with it more tomorrow, but it just
seemed weird to me.

Later,
Michael

Oh, and I do cover up the sensor with an old
dark cloth and stand behind it tring to
prevent it from detecting motion, but it
still does it when set for B6.

I'm NOT standing in front of it
thinking "that darned thing keeps detecting
motion when I'm the only thing standing
here."  LOL!

Michael,

How are the batteries in the MS? I've had
some weird things happen with my MS when the
batteries were weak. Also I take it your see
the “B6 ON” in the activity monitor of AHP,
is the red LED on the MS flashing
continuously?
Did you try any other HC&UN like "D6"
or "B10" than "A1"?
Any macros that triger on "B6"?

First, It was an Eagleeye and not a
Hawkeye.  I can't keep them straight.

Second, I guess indoor/outdoor means it's
outdoor as long as it doesn't rain.

That seems to be the cause of the weird
reaction.  Last night it was working as I
described, today I tried new batteries and
everything and found it was broadcasting ON
over and over no matter what it was set
on.  I unscrewed it from the wall and then
noticed some droplets of water on the
inside of the lens.  That's the only thing
I can attribute it to so I stuck another up
for now.  Hummm, I guess if I were smart I
would have run some clear silocon around
the new one before mounting it.  Oh well, I
never claimed to be smart. ;-)
