Leviton does not work with AHP

I just purchase and installed a 1000 Watt
Incandescent Leviton's Decora® (HCM06-1s)
wall switch. Nice switch with True Rocker
Action and Soft fade ON/OFF (a ton of
functions) but pretty expensive. Luck I only
need one. It would not work with AHP macro
or timers. Tried a few experiments and found
the absolute on to be at fault. If I send a
Bright command to the Leviton switch that is
off nothing happens. As opposed to an X10
switch which will turn on. I was able to get
it to work by changing the setup on the AHP
of my Leviton's switch to an appliance
module. Thus AHP would send a true “on”
command. I also tried the Leviton wall
switch setting in APH and that did not work.
I now have on and off working but would also
like to use dim any recommendations

X10 has this on the board of things to fix;
I was expecting it to be fixed on the last
release, but no luck.

Here's the work-around --

In ActiveHomePro, define the module TWICE -

Once as a standard wall switch,
and once as an appliance module.

Use the appliance module to turn it on/off,
and the wall switch to control dim levels.

I know it is a hack/kludge, but it's the
best way, until X10 fixes the problem.

I purchased over 50 Leviton 6381, 6383,
HCMO6 wall switches for a new spec home and
having the same problem, do not have the
problem with the X10 dimmer switches. Any
idea when AHP is going to correct the
problem?

Tigger, Thank you. This is a hack I can live
with. Would not have guess you could define
the same module TWICE

Tigger

There is an option under Tools / PREFERENCES
that you will need to check-mark.  Look for
"Multiple Modules can use same address"

That hack worked with my Leviton switch,
which previously would turn on but not off.
But I have a simple Decorator dimmer switch
(2201PH) which continues to only turn on. I
have tried every module setting at this
point, I think.

I should add that I have a table-top
controller (good only for 4 devices at a
time) and both switches work fine with it. In
fact, maybe it is time to dump the CM15 and
reduce my total usage to four modules!

Does anyone have experience with the
1132CUP POWERLINC CONTROLLER & SMARTHOME
MANAGER PLUS SOFTWARE, and will it work
correctly with Leviton 6381 and HCMO6
dimmer switches with memory.

X10 Pro

We will be adding a preference to use On
instead of 100% Bright for the lamp timers
and macros, which should help this problem.

jaz50y

When? And how will this help when my problem
is OFF not ON?

I gave up on AHP months ago and purchased
Home Seer.  It supports Leviton right out
of the box, runs as a service, and has
saved me many hours of problems.  If you
guys are tired of screwing around with this
stuff, you might try it.  It's not cheap,
but I saved tens of hours with it.

Pete:  Will HomeSeer download to the CM15A?
I need this feature so that I can keep it in
a central location in the house.  I also
don't want to keep my PC on when I am away on
vacation.

Homeseer requires PC, but what about falling
back to AHP during vacations?

I am thinking of going to Homeseer myself,
but havn't yet because the only PC I wish to
dedicate to HA is under powered for Homeseer
(only a 700Mhz P4).
