Incorrect Module Status (V3.173)
« on: December 08, 2004, 11:46:36 PM »

When I start-up AHP the status of the
modules is not being displayed correctly.
Lights that have been switched on by the
CM15A are shown as being off, and sometimes
at half brightness with a brightness setting
of "?".

Is this how it is supposed to work?

This is how it has worked for me since the
creation of the CM15a now on the CM 11a all
you had to do was hit status update and the
unit would tell you which modules had been
turned either on or off even if they were
triggered by remote or RF. I don't
understand why this is such a problem with
AHP ? For 5 years my CM 11a with
the "oneway" dimmable modules worked just
fine. Perhaps X10 people don't wish this
software to work this way , perhaps they
want us to purchase the far more
expensive "two" way modules.

Take a look at ”Update Status (Old
ActiveHome)” by TZD dated 11/11/2004 09:28 AM
in the Wish List Forum, and you’ll see that
the return of this Update Status feature was
requested.  X-10 Pro, can U respond to this?

I noticed some problems with this yesterday,
and we're looking at this.

Tracking status when the CM15A isn't
connected to the computer only occurs on one
house code, the Monitored House Code as set
in the Hardware Configuration. When the
interface is re-connected to the PC, AHP
should update the on/off status of modules on
that house code, and indicate if they have
been dimmed by the blue dim bar and ?? value.

If the CM15A is connected to a running PC,
everything should be tracked accurately.

My CM15a has never acturately tracked the
status of my dimmable modules. I leave the
computer attached at all times to the
computer and have even seen when a timer
activates or a macro actives that the status
is not updated.

Same here -- the status of the dimmers has
never worked accurately or reliably for me
either. Seems that the dimmer percentage is
totally random sometimes. I always leave my
CM15A hooked to the PC and my PC is always
on since I run a server on a small LAN
office system. Sometimes when I open up AHP
the dimmer percentages seem correct and
other times they're all set to zero.

X10Pro, we have not seen response to request
for return of Update Status feature.  Seems
this feature might eliminate complaints about
incorrect status, since we could at our
option obtain that information.

X10: Today I left my PC on, CM15A connected
to the PC, and ActiveHome Pro running. No
Interruption of the power occurred, and we
have isolation from stray X10 signals.
Yet, when I check AHP I find that a light,
which is on, and dimmed to 60%, is being
displayed as off, with the dimmer at 100%.

The Activity Monitor does not show any off
activity for this light.

I have this problem also.  Running Win98SE.
Status shows a question mark in the percent
dim box.

Same here. Mine hasn't ever displayed the proper status
and I've been doing this since October.

Hi X10 guys !

The status of my dimmers has never worked
accurately for me too with the interface
USB cable connected to the PC running.
(examples : not the real % of dim level
displayed, question marks symbol appears at
right side of the module icon , etc.)

:-(

But AHP is a very nice product, I love it !
I have a lot of fun with the SW and the HW.

Clearly we've got some work to do in this
area. We are working on it, and should have
improvements soon.
