Macros won't execute when triggered by RF
« on: January 07, 2005, 08:34:18 AM »

Since last night all my macros stopped
executing when triggered via rf signal.  The
activity log for each macro shows the signal
received but it never executes and the units
don't show that they took the action they
were supposed to.  If I trigger the macro
manually from the software it runs fine.  If
I try to turn on individual units via rf they
work fine.  Wierd.  Help!!!

Update:

I added a test macro to blink a specific
light on and off so that I could see what was
happening and all of a sudden all the rf
triggered macros started working again.  Any
thoughts as to how to explain this and more
importantly avoid it happening again?

BTW I did purge delayed macro events several
times to see if there was something stuck in
the brain but it had no effect.

This is my biggest problem right now.  Did
activity monitor also show a lot of random
commands on house codes you don't use as
well?

Kenny: Assuming you're talking about macros
stored in the interface, running macros from
software and triggering them from the
interface are two different things. Clicking
on a "Run Macro" button in the software
always results in the AHP software running
the events. If the macro is stored in the
interface, using the remote control will
cause it to be run from the interface memory.

In this case, it sounds like you've lost the
data in the interface somehow, or something
similar. If you download your macros again,
what happens?

I think that I had done several updates of
the interface after this happened but I am
not positive.  If I am right, is there some
way to do a "hard reboot" so that I am not
just relying on the download to overwrite but
I can actually wipe the slate clean and then
reload?

I will watch for this to happen again and try
doing a download to verify if this corrects
it.  What could have caused the loss of the data?

Thanks.

X10:

I checke dthe activity log and there were
donloads during the blackout period but I
have had error messages for the past several
days doing downloads but the software always
tries again and eventually it works.  Perhaps
it didn't work this time but it thought it did.

I am having two RF problems:  1) Sometimes RF
commands don't trigger modules, even though
the Activity Monitor shows the correct codes
being gnerated.  2) RF macros don't execute.
I don't think it's a problem with the
interface losing memory, since I can see the
macros executing  in the Activity Log.  In
both cases (1&2), clicking a module icon on
the PC, including the macros, properly
executes the commands.
