Phantom All Lights On
« on: February 21, 2005, 09:08:41 AM »

I know this bug has been mentioned already
but since there is no way to search for the
post I'm starting another post.

I'm experincing an "All Lights On" when my
morning wakeup macro executes.

I have the latest software version, 3.180,
as well as the latest CM15A.

Steven R: Can I reproduce this with one of
data files you've sent me?

X10 Pro:  I don't know about Steven's
files, but you should be able to reproduce
it with the files I sent you.  Have you?

X10 Pro: I don't recall sending you any
files yet or at least not since noticing
this problem. I'd be glad to send some if
you like. It appears to be happening with
the timed execution of my wake up macro. I
also am using the diagnostic CM15A, if that
is of any help.

Wakeup M5 On

(C4) Steven Brighten then dim to 50%
(H1) Towel Heater ON
Delay for 02:00
(C3) Radio ON
Delay for 03:00
(C4) Steven ON         *See below
Delay for 05:00
(H2) H2O Water Pump ON
Delay for 02:50:00
House Code C All Units Off

*I believe this is still brightening C4 to
100%. For clarity I just changed it to...

(C4) Steven Brighten then dim to 98%

I'll let you know if that affects any thing.

I'm getting phantom 'All Lights On' too, but
mine seem to be triggered by RF.  A wireless
wall switch or Palm Pad switch press
sometimes results in every light coming on.
This just started after I swapped my CM15A
for the one with "Diagnostic Features".  If
my wife had her way, all my X-10 would be in
the dumpster.  I have AHP 3.180 with Smart
Macros on XP Pro SP2.  I've not had a chance
to check the activity log when this happens
to look for clues.

While I don't think RF is my problem, I did
get an "all lights on" this morning when I
triggered my wake up macro (see below) from
my palm remote.

I believe that the CM15A when executing a
macro (not even a smart one) at times goes
awry, and that is when things appear to work
plus a random bonus.  I have observed simple
macros with nine steps or so not complete
from time to time and while executing create
extra commands.  Not having the source
libraries and linked cross-reference for
checkpoints I was unable to do any real
verification.  However, I observed the X10
command Power line meter not confirm some of
what AHP was showing in the Activity Monitor.

I too get phantom "All lights on" signals,
but it doesn't seem to be related to macros
... they are completely random.  I have a
whole house surge-protector, and only use one
house code, but sometimes get an "All lights
on" in AHPs logs from my own housecode.

I just switched to the CM15A hoping it was
better than my old CM11, but it does the same
thing ... arg.  It sure has much better logs
though (if they are accurate).

Lately it seems as if things are working
right by the timer but "all lights on" are
turning on when triggered by the palm
remote.
