I just received my kit last week and am
just getting around to installing the
modules and switches.  I have 3 switches in
my kitchen, C6 C7 C8.  I can't turn them on
via a palm pad or from the computer.  If I
turn them on from the actual wall switch,
they respond to the off command from the
palm pad and the computer. I have filters
on all my computers, I installed a phase
coupler/repeater from smarthome.  I have a
couple of CFLs install on a different
switch, C5 (haven't gotten around to
changing the bulbs yet)  Can the be causing
the problems on C6 C7 C8

Yes they can depending on the manufacturer of
the compacts. The noise will travel via the
powerlines between one transformer to the
other so you may also be sending this noise
to other houses between the transformers. If
there are 6 houses on the transformer then
this noise could go to all six houses. They
likewise can corrupt your signals. Normally
the noise will bleed off as you get further
away from the offending appliance. The only
way to tell for sure is with signal test
equipment. The average house should have no
more than 60 to 70 mv of noise and the signal
strength should always double the noise
level. The least noise the better since noise
can damage computers and other electronic
equipment.
