I don't understand why anyone would use
ME.  Win98 is good for old systems and XP
and 2000 are good for newer systems.

I use ME because it was on my computer when
I bought it and I have had no reason to buy
another OS.

For the cost of the OS upgrade its
sometimes better to by a low end PC with XP
sp2 on it, plus the benifit of hardware
that matches the OS. In my opion for what
its worth.

An I agree with tuicemen, ME s---ed I found
98 SE more stable. Besides my understanding
is Micosoft finally stopping support for
98, 98 SE and ME mid year hopefully. Old
OS's die hard as do the hardware they were
built for!

AndyD:  If ME works well for you, then by
all means stick with it.  No point
upgrading needlessly.  Most people I talked
to found it unreliable though.

HJ Flynn:  This is the third time I have
heard Microsoft announce that they are
abandoning support for 98.  Both other
times they changed their mind due to public
pressure.  It wouldn’t surprise me if they
end up not supporting ME but continue to
support 98.  I think there are a lot more
machines running 98 than ME.  This is
partly because ME is unreliable (I think
more people upgraded to XP than ME) and
partly because many corporations went from
98 to 2000 instead of ME.

Best Buy has a special this week on XP Home
Edition $39 after rebates.  XP is a much
better solution to your problem.

bugs are.

Tuicemen - In your update you said that the
OFF macro did not fire 4 minutes later -
was it supposed to fire throught a timer or
throught the motion sensor. If through the
sensor then 2 things: #1 the motion sensor
did not get triggered to begin with. #2 you
entered the wrong code for the trigger.
Or I am reading this the wrong way because
it sounds like you are using a timer to
trigger the macro and expecting the motion
sensor to turn it off. If the motion sensor
isn't triggered then it can't turn it off.
By the way motion sensors don't get
triggered on a scheduled time. They might
have a delay built into them to trigger an
OFF AFTER they have been triggered to begin
with. Did you see what activity monitor had
recorded - did it receive the ON/OFF
triggers?

Donald McMow : I have a motion sensor turn
on lights in a macro then 3min later the
motion sensor sends a off rf signal which I
use to turn other lights on in another
macro  and an else to turn off lights in
another macro every thing was working fine
the diagostic unit sees the motion sensor rf
triger but doesn't respond sometimes it
doesn't see the rf but usually it does
according to the AM.

UPDATE:
Just recieved an new TM751 (fried my old
one, long story) and set it to same house
code as my motion sensor.Bingo! Everything
is working again even faster (go figure). I
never configured the Tm751 into AHP as I was
just going to test the module and unplug it
but I think I'll leave it pluged in, at
least till the next update.
Must be an RF thingy & Smartmacros, this is
a wierd one.  X10Pro?
