DS10A & other PowerHouse modules
« on: April 22, 2005, 02:29:07 AM »

According to the "compatability" list offered
for AHP, all PowerHouse modules should work
with it.  And while its got modules for the
system controlers (which seem useless btw),
it doesn't have anything for sub-components.
I want to be able to have my DS10 door
sensors trigger macros, and maybe even my
keychain toggler.  When it sees the disarm
command, or lights on, I'd like the system to
respond.   Is there anyway to get the CM15A
to be triggered from these sensors?  And if
not, how is that "compatable with all
PowerHouse modules"?

ActiveHome Pro doesn't have the ability to
work with security system sensors (DS10A
door/window sensor, or MS10A motion sensors)
or remote controls.

The compatibility list doesn’t say that AHP
is compatible with ALL PowerHouse modules.
It says that these modules “MAY be
compatible with ActiveHome Pro.”  The
word “may” implies that AHP may not be
compatible with some modules.

powerhouse,
If you want to be able to see DS10A and
other security modules you will need
different equipment and different software.

I beleive the combination of the 1132CU
running Home Control Assistant an the WGL
w800 transciever will do what you want.
I'm sure there are other hardware/software
combos that will do this.  The cm15A will
not.

The WGL W800 uses serial communications.
Maybe an 1132B, 1132CU is USB.

The WGL W800 is a serial transciever.
Unlike other transcievers it recieves RF
and puts it right into the PC Then out onto
the powerline.  It recognizes all 256 X10
commands along with all the securiy system
codes.  Along with being able to use
window/door sensors to trigger macros it
should also speed up motion sensor
triggered macros.  I'll let you know as
soon as I get it.

Tcassio; What software do you plan on using
for the WS800? Also the computer has to be
on 24/7 for it to work with the WS800. I
have one and have used the demo program to
observe all the RF codes being sent by many
units.

I am running Home Control Assistant.  Along
with the 1123CU by Smarthome.  HCA has
built in support for the W800, and I do
have my computer on 24/7, its running on my
Web Server/E-mail server.

Thanks for that data. I was incorrect whan I
said the 1132CU would not work. I forgot
that the WS800 was serial to the computer
and that the computer and software could
talk to any controller it was compatible
with.
