Dimming in Timers Doesn't Work
« on: July 13, 2005, 08:00:22 AM »

I am running Active Home Pro 3.187 on Windows
XP SP1.  As far as I can tell, everything
works, except timer dimming.  All of my
controlled lamps are connected to LM465
modules, which dim or brighten when a use the
remotes.  However, I use timers to turn them
on/off automatically depending on the time of
day.  Although the timers correctly turn them
on, they ignore all of the dimmer settings.
The lamps always come on and remain at 100%
until they are turned off, unless I use the
remote to dim them.  Is there a fix for this?

Have you tried using macros to control your
timing and dimming features?  I can't speak
to the problem of module/timer/dimmer
reliability, but I have many lights which
turn on and dim every day to macros with
timer and dimmer settings, with near 100%
accuracy.

I erred in my original post.  Dimming within
the timers does work.  I used subtle dimming
like 75% or 80%, which wasn't that
noticeable.  However, when I changed it to
25% - 50%, it was obvious that the timers did
recognize dimming requests.  However, I do
think that the dimming effect is more
noticeable when you move the slider when
ActiveHome Pro is running on the computer.
That is, a lamp dimmed to 50% in the timer
really looks like a lamp only dimmed to 75%
on the ActiveHome Pro slider.
At any rate, dimming seems to work.  I, also,
tried it the way Win S suggested in a macro.
That worked, too.  Sorry for the earlier
hasty post.
