I ordered AHP when it first came out - and
soon returned it because the software
crashed so often I couldn't even try it. My
old CM11, which worked about 95% of the time
programmed signals and I don't remember it
ever crashing.
I was using the RR501 transceiver which
worked most times if I could position my
body in a certain way (and tapped my heels 3
times) though with a few second delay - and
any attempt at dim control would completely
lock it up. I had always chalked up the
lockup to the leviton repeater/coupler I
have.
So needing a replacement and a short memory,
I ordered the new AHP and CM15. The
programmed signals now only work about 60%
of the time, and the remotes about 20%. I
even tried installing the CM15 on its own
circuit at the breaker box = no improvement.
And the software still crashes, but only
occassionally - when accessing help and
adjusting time values in timers.
Since the remote feature was basically
useless, I ordered the smarthome transceiver
= works 100% of the time even with dimming.
Nice!!
I've now had it with the AHP for computer
control - I don't want flaky operation nor
frustration when accessing the software. I'm
still looking, but smarthome maybe the one I
try next.
Would anyone like to purchase this - it's
only 3 weeks old - and would make a nice
holiday gift for the special someone you
would love to see tear their hair out. I
sure hate to have thrown out $50.
Any other ideas?
