I noticed that my CM15A appeared to gain an
hour of time (lights coming on earlier).

I couldn't communicate with it until I
removed one of the batteries from it.  Once
I did, I downloaded the configuration again.

Not sure what is up here?  The lights were
going on and off sooner and I couldn't
communicate with the unit.

That is the way you reset a confused cm15a
interface.
Unplug unit. Remove batteries. Reinstall
batteries. Plug back in. Redownload to the
interface. Many others have done the same to
correct a lost controller.

Removing a battery - it's pretty much a
required step any time I connect to the CM15A

I had a time difference after the end of
DST. I never removed the batteries. I just
clear the memory and downloaded the timers
again. I think the time is stored in the
interface. I guess either removing the
batteries or clearing the memory will work.
Just remember to download everything again.

I had a similar problem talking to the CM15A,
had to remove the batteries each time.

I realized, in my case, what I was doing was
unplugging the CM15A from the wall, plugging
in the USB cable and plugging it back in the
wall.

If I do this I can't communicate with the
CM15A, I think it's because there's enough
power from the batteries to make it "show up"
as a USB device.. but not a valid one.

If I plug the CM15A back into the wall before
I plug the USB cable, it works fine.

I have the same problem.
Whatever i do it come round.

Showson1; The controller has an input for on
battery power. It may disable some of the
functions of the chip. Also someone a few
months ago; reported that in powerline noisy
environments. There maybe enough noise to
mess things up. Can't say about latest
cm15a's; but the report found X10 didn't add
4 common bypass capacitors on the power
supply regulator and the two ICs in the unit.
In their case all the lockups etc was fixed
by a warantee breaking; addding the
four .1uf 50V caps to the board.
Technically inclined people. The cma15a
schematic is on the FCC web site or was
unless X10 changed the status from public
view to private.
