i am thinking of purchasing one of these
cameras.
how well does the "night vision" feature
work? does it transmit a decent picture from
an interior room at night with no lights on?
or is it made more for dimly lit situations.
please reply with any information.

Kramm,

The title of this product can be somewhat
misleading. It’s works ok, at best, in dimly
lit situations. For a camera to see in total
darkness, look into something with Infrared
LEDS.

One advantage on xcam2 night vision is that
you cam install the cam inside the house
and point it out of the window.  You need
to install Flood Light outside.  With with
cams with LEDs, you cannot install them
behind a glass window as it will reflect
back the light.

We just bought a night cam and well test it
out tomorrow night. We have a new pole
light I put up over out driveway so it
should be enough light for it but we well
see ? (I hope.) I have a color cam on the
pole now and it works some what well at
night when the ground and cars are covers
with snow but other wise it well only work
on a targeted object with a lot of light on
it and does poor on the colors special on
my SUV, bright red.

I set a new pole light last week and just
got the night cam up and running and it
works great. I can see down the street. We
have some street light here and with my
pole light it all comes together with a
very good picture. I am having just one
problem and that is with the sound, When I
turn on pan it picks up the motor sounds
and you can’t hear more then a foot away
from the cam but It might be my set up is
wrong so well work on it in a day or so. If
anyone has any ideas let me know here.

Ok we up and running and it works great. I
can sleep now and that has been some time
feeling safe. By the way we live in what I
would call simi country. Some of the
streets here are just getting lights on
them.My light covers 1,600 feet and about
100 feet away is a street light. I can see
anything moving in my drive and people
coming down the street. My only worry is
the law on hearing others talking outside
our yard.  Audio is very good I can hear
people over 100'.
