The system from time to time gives an error
and posts the same message more than one
time. Has happened to me a few time also.

My dog pulled the power supply wire out of
my instant on camera. I figured no big deal
to open the camera and rre wire it but the
only wires I see internally is the shield
and the red wire. Where does the white wire
from the power supply go?

In mine the Red is spliced to a red going
through the main board into the upper camera
assembly. The white is on a solder pad on
the main board next to the hole where the
red goes through. Label on  board VCC. Your
unit may or may not match mine.

Thanks Brian that was it. Poor solder joint
and it pulled clean off the VCC pad leaving
no wire strands to see. Thanks again!!

I did an install last week with a 20'
headphone extension from radio shack.  The
picture from that cam is better than the
three FloodCams in the install.  It's only
low voltage DC power.  So it should be good
to extend up to 100' if necessary.  After
that or more than 3 extensions I would worry
about getting thicker cables and sheilding
the connections with foil.  Always cover any
extension with electrical tape for
weatherproofing and to be less visible.
Instead of making your own thicker cables,
you could use a 1/4 to 1/8 adapter and use
the 1/4 extension cables.  Of course if you
extend the wire over 50' you will probably
need a signal repeater which costs about 70
bucks.  The only thing on the site I
consider to be overpriced.  And you can't
get bulk or combo deals on those.  I'm
hoping X-10 reads this and offers some.  I
would like to expand my biz to large estate
homes that don't have to worry about people
coming close enough to their house to pickup
their cameras.
