Apparently my XM14 power supply for the
Ninja has failed. How do I get a
replacement? I cannot find the part on the
X10 site. I have verified that a lower
current PS (80ma)will allow the Ninja to
work, but I need the 200ma XM14. Thanks.

Did anyone respond?  I believe I have the
same issue.  Cameras worked great for 2
months.  Then nothing.  The ninja moves
around, but camera does not turn on and
off, nothing.  Took camera down and plugged
it into it original never used power supply
and it work great.  We had and electrical
storm and a period of browning and I wonder
if it killed part of the ninja transformer.

Let me know if you find anything out and I
will do the same!  Maybe a surge should be
used?  Your thoughts?

I have heard nothing yet. I believe that a
surge protector might actually prevent the
addressable power supply from working since
I think that the commands are sent via the
AC line. The surge protector might alter
the AC waveform (not sure) and prevent any
addressable power supplies from working.

Some supressors with noise filters may
absorbe the X10 Line Signals. Some that just
have a few MOVs in them just absorbe spikes.
Most X10 modules do have a MOV in them on
the powwr input, but only across the power
lines. A spike from one line to earth is not
absorbed. It does sound like the supply may
have been damaged. Have you tried the
original supply again. The microcontroller
in most X10 devices sometimes get confused
and a power down to reset it is needed.

Yes - I tried the original power supply and
did not work. However, I cut the wire on
the PS - I played around with the 3 wires -
I connected the red and white wires
together and now it works! I left the black
wire alone and,of course, still connected.
I would suspect that this solution might
prevent me from using another Ninja ( maybe
it is now always on). Anyway, by connecting
the red and white wires together - it is
currently working 100% of the time.

OK. If the switched power lead was not going
on the camera will now be on all the time.
If the unswitched was bad. The whole thing
will go on and off with the remote control
and the picture will not instantly be there
as the CCD image sensor has to charge up.
Tests show that on the 1/8" stereo type
power jack of the supply. Shell is common.
Tip is +12 volts and ring is switched +12
volts.

Ok. My Ninja is now in the state that the
camera will turn on and off and rotate with
the remote and I do have to wait for warm
up time, but it is better than having it
not work at all. Still have not seen a PS
replacement listed on X10.

Opps my power signal information was for the
XM13A not the XM14A?
