I set up a Protector Plus system and one of
the door sensor reacts slowly.  The door has
to be open for a couple of seconds before it
recognizes that the door has been opened.
The door jam is steel I was wondering if you
have ever had problems with a magnetic field
holding for a while in these cases?

I have seen in other posts that if it is
steel use a popcyle stick (s) to move it
out from the steel.

Radio Shack or security vendors sell door
contact spacers, there just plastic spacers
to move the contact out further.  Or
popcicle sticks would work.  Also make sure
you are using alkaline batteries for strong
power, and make sure there are not other
magnetic devices nearby.

Or maybe he has the switch on the sensor set
to Max rather than Min?
