The system will not function properly if you
use anything other than alkaline batteries.
Also, you do not want to use Duracell,
Energizer or Radio Shack brand. These high
end brands use technology that will cause
the sensors to no function properly. You
want to use a generic alkaline brand like
Rayovac, Panasonic, Walgreen's, etc. These
will work better and you should only need to
change them every 12 to 14 months.

To operate reliably, you can have up to 3
sets of magnets per sensor box with no more
than 5 feet of wire between the sensor box
and the farthest magnet set.  Any more
magnets or wire may cause unreliable
function from the sensor.

One thing of which to be aware is that
these wireless sensors do a status check
with the console unit every 45 minutes or
so.  If two consecutive checks do not
receive a reply, the console zone light for
that sensor flashes and the console chimes
5 times if an attemt is made to ARM the
system.  This lets you know there is a
problem and allows you to invetigate it
then, or bypass it until later.  HOWEVER,
and here's what really stinks ... if the
system is ALREADY ARMED and a battery dies
while you are away, the console does not
receive the 45 minute status checks.  Upon
missing the second check ... IT SOUNDS THE
ALARM!!!  EVERY 90 MINUTES!!  Not a
neighbourly thing to do if you are away for
a few weeks.  So, make sure you replace the
batteries frequently.

normally closed?

I need to see three doors and know witch is
open. I have have sensors but they do not
work with any of my modules and the motion
detector are to brod. I have an 88 year old
that likes to open doors at any time!!!

Security Expert is right, more wire can
lead to radio interference, it acts like an
big antennae.

X10 told me that a battery that goes dead
during alarm will not cause the alarm to
sound.

Have you thought about using a Robo Dog by
X10 with the motion detector which comes
with it???  Hhmmmmm!!!
