Low battery

When the DS7000 Protector Plus console
battery gets low, is there anyway to dialout?
I am concerned that a burglar could trip AC
power intentionally and once the backup
battery was drained, the system would fail to
work and if away, we'd never know. If the
system doesn't dialout, does anyone have any
ideas on how to solve the problem?

One thought would be to use an
Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) like what
you'd use for a computer...
Another thought would be to use a REALLY BIG
9 volt battery. I know I bought a
rechargable battery for a cheap cordless
drill that I got from Harbor Frieght for ,
like, $3.99. You could use two 9 volt
rechargable drill batteries and cycle them
through the alarm. Have one charged-up and
ready to replace the other when it goes
weak. Just a thought...

Thanks for the reply. I think the idea of UPS
or supplementary battery might be a good idea
in any event. Unfortunately, if one were away
for an extended period than the larger
battery might not be adequate. What I'd
really like is notification via dialout that
there was loss of AC. It would be simple to
independently detect loss of AC; wonder how
difficult it would be to trick the DS7000
into dialing out?

I don't think it would be hard. 'Might be
possible to do with a door/window switch.
Only thing is, you wouldn't know if it was a
power outage, or a break-in. If you could
use another DS7000 solely for this purpose,
that would be great and then you could
record a 'power out' message on it. Of
course, it would be a pain to have to
activate them both every time you leave, but
you might be able to time the learning
phases of them so that they'll learn the
codes from the remotes at the same time, so
one remote could work for two DS7000's.
