After reading the various posts about the
default code notbeing 0000, I figured it
out. When the 49-1000 proves defective or
buggy and you return it, you may forget (or
on purpose) to change the pin or do a master
reset.
So ... they shove the box on the shelf, you
buy it, the other person's PIN is installed
and you are left posting here (since you are
lucky enough to know to come here) to find
out how to reset the code.
You most likely bought a used unit that was
returned because the other person had
trouble with it. Just like I returned two
units to Radio Shack when I had trouble with
them. Sorry.
