Are you talking the siren function or the
annunciator function? I would think 105 db
would be real loud. PH508 110 db. can be
heard in the other end of my home. If yours
is not too loud it maybe defective.

You are sending it a series of ON OFF codes
to trigger it? Most X10 stuff is AC Line
Powered and the AC Hot is frequently
connected to the internal common. Use care
if you modify anything. It could become a
live device capable of giving a severe shock.

I'm triggering it by arming the system and
opening a door.

Not sure what you mean by this, please
elaborate.
thanks

I don't know if the compact powehorn uses
enough power to have a trancformer in it. My
PH508 does. Basically many of the X10
modules use the power line directly to run
them. If you try to connect stuff to the
inside wiring there is a good posibility it
may have 120 Volts AC on it back to ground.

My Large Powerhorns are extremely loud!!! 110
Decibles is a LOT! Heck, 90 Decibles is a
lot. So I don't understand how 105 Decibels
isn't loud. If you're talking about using 1
Compact siren and listening to it from the
other side of your house, then, no, it won't
be loud. I have three Large Powerhorns. That
does the trick. Every room in my house is
uncomfortable when they go off :)

outdoor siren to one of the powerhorns.

More tests for a RS 49-1000 not activating
powerhorns. Shows that the console [DS7000]
sends a All Lights ON and All Units OFF on
the House Code the dial is set to. So
powerhorns can be triggered two ways. An ON
OFF cycle on the House Unit Code it is set
to or an All Lights On All Units OFF cycle
on the house code it is set to. I found that
the All Lights OFF code will also work with
the All Lights ON code in the cycle.
