i have an MS10A motion detector - it
does not chime on ps561 console when it
detects. it won;t chime when you press
the test button either.

yes, the console is in 'run 2' mode.
it;s not armed, when i test.


yes, i have 2 other motion detectors,
ps544a, that do chime.

yes, the motion detector does work -
it will trip the alarm when the system
is armed.

also, i don;t think the ms10a lights
up its led when it detects motion either.

is this normal?

i really can;t tell what it;s doing,
no chime, no led..

it has no switch to set other than '1 or 2'.
i leave that on 1.

also, sometimes the zone light for the ms10a
stays on, i can;t figure that out either.
in the test mode especially.
if you press test, the led just comes
on for that zone and stays on.

the other motion detectors just blink
on and off when you prese test. and they
make a chime.

oh.
the ms10a is in zone 5, the others are in
2 and 4.

i also have some window/door sensors.
they work fine.

Larry....my _MS10As do not chime on my
_PS561 in RUN2 mode.  My _DS10A do chime but
my MS10A have never chimed on the _PS561
(except for 1 ding during installation-
install).  Does anyone else's?  Please note
that I had a _PSC03C (Orca system) from _X10
that did chime for both the DS10As and
MS10As.

my guess is that there is miscommunication
between ms10a and ps544.

I do know that not all motion detected on
ms10a will result in LED light itself
turning on even though it will signal to
the appropriate console and read
as "motion".  The alarm will go off.

i wonder if it has something to do
with the fact that the ms10a doesn;t have
a 'home/away' switch..

maybe it;s permanently in 'home' mode
which would not chime.
