I want a sensor to trigger a macro to turn
on a remote chime (SC546A) and it won't.
The sensor and macro are set to A2 and
chime is set to A1.  The chime works from
AHP MyRoom when I click "run macro" or the
Chime.  But, Chime does not ring when macro
is triggered by the motion sensor.  The
macro sees the A2 On code from the motion
sensor but is not sending out an A1 On to
ring chime. How come?  Any suggestions
appreciated.

In AHP:
Tools > Hardware configuration
Check the box to transceive housecode A

Charles, thank you for your reply.  I did
check transciever box A, but it didn't
work.  The Chime rings when I manually
click AHP "run macro" or the Chime. Its
when the macro is triggered by the sensor
that the chime does not ring, as no A1 On
code is being sent.  Any other suggestions
greatly appreciated.  Thanks, Mark K.

Mark,
This is just a hunch - try it and see if it
makes a difference:
Unplug the CM15A from the wall socket and
remove the batteries (one battery will do as
they're in series) for a few seconds.
Replace the batteries, plug back into the
wall, and download your macro again. (Verify
that transceiving is still checked for
housecode A.)

Charles, thank you for your suggestion.
After removing battery and disconnecting
CM15A (then reconnecting), the A
transceiver house code remains checked in
AHP Hardware Config.
But, I believe the problem lies elsewhere.
My set up: Motion sensor set to A4 and an
AHP macro set to A4.  The macro contain one
line item, turn on Chime A1.  When the
motion sensor senses motion it properly
triggers the A4 macro and the "run macro"
flashes.  All looks ok on AHP screen but NO
A1 On code is transmitted.  On the other
hand, when I manually click the A4 "run
macro" button, it flashes AND an A1 On code
IS transmitted (per activity log) and the
chime rings.
It doesn't make sense to me.
Why does the macro properly tranmit A1 On
code when manually triggered, but does not
transmit A1 On code when the sensor
triggers it?
Further suggestions will be appreciated.

I'm afraid I can't duplicate your problem.
My setup:
Win XP Pro SP2
AHP v3.198 or 3.199 (tried both)
SC546A Chime set to A1
MS14A Motion Detector set to A4
Program:
File > New
Drag in SC546A chime and set to A1
Edit > New Macro
Set macro to A4 ON, and click "Download to
Interface" radio button.
Drag in SC546A chime
Tools > Hardware configuration
Check transceive box for A and click
"Update".
File > Save as "chimetest"
Tools > Download timers and macros
Test:
Tools > Activity monitor
Wave hand in front of Motion Detector.
Result:
Chime sounds.
Activity monitor shows:
- Receive RF  A4 On
- Macro       A1 (New SC546A)
- Macro       A On (New SC546A)

Suggest you try reprogramming from scratch in
a New Room - just the minimal stuff I have
done and see if that works.

Mark,
BTW, the code which executes when you click
the "Run macro" button and what happens when
a macro is triggered by an external signal
are two entirely different things.  The fact
that one works and the other doesn't can be
due to a number of things, including bugs in
the software.

Mark,
I've managed to (I think) reproduce your
problem by interupting AC power to the CM15A
for a short time.  If you've tried
reprogramming as suggested two messages down,
go through the unplug/remove-replace battery
procedure, then re-download the macro and
test it again.

Thank you all for replies.
Through trial and error, the macro worked
(transmitted A1 On code) when I
selected "run from pc" in macro designer,
instead of "store in interface."
I guess I can't store in CM15A for some
reason.
Is it a bad CM15A, bad batteries in CM15A,
or software bug?  The batteries are new.
Any suggestions?

Umm... I hope you know that when you select
"Download to interface", in the macro
designer, you afterward have to run:
Tools > Download timers and macros
in order to actually load the macro into the
CM15A memory.
