Radio Shack 12-250
« on: August 07, 2006, 02:55:32 PM »

I'm not sure this is the right location for this post, so forgive me if it's not, I'd like to use my radio shack 12-250 SAME Weather Radio's X10 port to do some things. but i've got one simple question, what's the voltage range on the x10 port, i know 0v is the 'nominal' state and somewhere around 9v is the 'alert' state, but i don't know what the 'active, but not alerting' state is, it's somewhere between 0v and 9v, anyone know?

the reason for my asking is, i plan on connecting this to an amateur radio repeater i have my house, then using an I/O port on the repeater control to trip an alarm. so i can kill two birds with one stone

Check out this Radio Shack support page on how to connect it to a power flash module.

do you know if all the weather radios are the same in this regards, voltage stays at 7.5v until the alert clears?

No I don't know. The above link was from the FAQ page for the model you said you had.
I don't know where you live but the weekly test signal for Atlanta, GA area is about 11:30 am on Wed.
