multiple motions same house/unit number
« on: January 20, 2006, 04:39:33 PM »

Can I have two EagleEye Motions set to A1
and two switch modules set to A1. This way
it either the side or back motion is tripped
both lights will turn on. I am new at all
this home automation. I have yet to buy the
software for total automation control I'm
sure I can do this and other things with the
macros.

P.S. I would also like to have A1 be the
security light too from my alarm system. Is
there going to be too much trying to control
the A1 wall switches. Who is going to take
priority of the others.

Yes as long as both motion sensors don't
send the signal at the sametime and that
both RF signals from both sensors reach the
tranceiver used to processs the RF signals.
Security code also fine, One thing maybe
undesired. If the security console and one
of the motion sensors both send at the
sametime. The signals maybe scrambled and no
A1 lights will light. Other thing maybe if
the console turns the lights on a motion
sensor if triggered also sends an ON; no
problem, but the motion sensors after a
preset time then send an OFF.
Secutity Motion Sensors only send special
signals to the console and will not activete
any X10 Address on its own.
I have many modules all on A1 controlled by
a computer controller an X10 Touchtone
Controller and an RR501 Tranceiver with a
few X10 RF remotes. Also have 2 chime
modules on A4. Also contrioed by the
Touchtone Controller and a doorbell sensor
through a Powerflash module.

I stated in the post I had a wall module
too. Seem to me although X10 has many
conveniences. It also has inconveniences
too. That almost out weigh the pros. I
almost need to  see the Active Home Pro
version software to see how flex able the
macros make these modules work.

We have lots of help with all types of
Automation X10 included as well as other
protocols at.
www.accessha.com
Remember X10s protocol is very old and the
modern electronics boom has made problems
for that protocol. Not that others also have
quirks.
