Timer turns light off but not on
« on: January 22, 2006, 02:56:05 PM »

I've just replaced old my X-10 timer with a
mini-timer (MT10A), and the wall switch with
a new one (same mode WS467). When I test it
with "All lights ON" and "All lights OFF",
only the OFF works. In actual timer mode, it
won't turn the light on, but will turn the
light off (after it's manually turned on).

So you have OFF, but no ON. What is the
wattage of the bulb you are controlling?

I have a similar problem.  I have a wall
switch that's been in place for years,
lights coming on and off twice daily.  The
wall switch was mis behaving more and more
so I swapped it out with a new one. (Brand
new WS467) Using a remote or AHP, I can
turn the switch off, but the only way to
turn it on is by pushing the button on the
switch.  I even tried some dimming and
brightening from the remote and that worked
as well, but no on.

Some find better response with the two power
leads reversed.
