I've always wanted the soft buttons on the
PalmPad Remote to have that "Green Ghost"
glow to them.

I suppose you could buy a bottle of glow-in-
the-dark model paint or nail polish, and
paint the buttons yourself...

I would love to see a palm remote with
lighted numbered buttons. I use the Palm
remote in a home theater and I have a small
flash light I use to see the remote, and
yes my reading glasses to.

I envision a tiny protruding button, perhaps
on the top edge, that backlights the buttons
and the label only for a period of, say, 6
seconds.  That would serve both our purposes.

Yes, but I really dislike customizing any
product unless I can do an excellent job of
it, and coated buttons just don't do it for
me.  They would feel terrible (I'm very fond
of their tactile feel as they are), would
crack and peel eventually, and it might even
interfere with their operation as they
depress into the case.  Thanks for the
suggestion though.

Indeed, my pet peeve these days: technology
allows print to be so small that only
individuals with perfect vision between the
ages of 13 through 22 can read pill bottle
instructions and soupcan contents.  I guess
that's the primary cellphone demographics?
They keep trying to "upgrade" my cellphone
plan, and if they made one that I could read,
I just might do that.  As an "Old wired baby
boomer"(1) I cannot read my cell phone screen
without glasses, and can *barely* glean the
sequence of PalmPad buttons, partially from
memory. As we age, we normally become
farsighted and while I can read a license
plate at 300 yards, placing the PalmPad at
300 yards does nothing to help me read it.

I configure Firecraker to print all items on
the first eight fields (1.LvgRoom 9.OfcPots,
2.Porch 10.OfcFan) leaving 9 through 16
blank, and this causes readability issues due
to the small font necessary in order to fit
them each within the block for a single device.]

Ken - I suppose you could open up the
remote, remote the fron cover, and then
paint ONLY the front cover with glow-in-the-
dark paint (spray-painting it should produce
nice results), then put it back together.
The buttons won't glow in the dark, but
you'll be able to see them, because they
will be the dark ovals in the glow-in-the-
dark rectangle.
