Indoor/Outdoor Christmas Light Control
« on: January 01, 2005, 12:30:13 PM »

I so much want to use X10 outdoor modules to
control my Christmas Lights through my
computer. And to be able to turn on interior
Christmas lighting is a plus. But it's those
outdoor/all-weather modules -- What about a
Christmas Kit that includes two or three or
even four outdoor modules with the computer
control found in other kits but specifically
for outdoor Christmas displays?

There's nothing wrong with wiring a regular
outlet in a protected box outside or in the
garage downline of an X10 Wall Receptacle
Module, Appliance module, or an X10Pro XPS2
switch.  The X10 device doesn't have to be
outside.

Take a look at this module.  Mount it in a
waterproof box and you're set.

Still waiting for a macro madule that would
allow me to setup various modules in a
Housecode to be used in a random order (not
as programmed in a set pattern), in a
random time frame (set to say any time
within 10 minutes), and a random brightness
level. This setup could also be used at
Halloween - lighting up gravestones in a
random pattern or ghosts/witches/skeletons.
You don't know what is going to happen -
It's ALL RANDOM. This could also be used
within a security triggered macro - Who
wants the bedroom light, the hallway light,
living room light, and porch light turned
on in the same sequence all the time - it
looks too programmed. Give us the option of
randomly turning on the living room light,
or the bedroom light, or the rumpuss room
light - with out having to setup a macro
for each room or a conditional macro for
each time.
