Question about the new forum

I love the look of this new board and all its features & options some of which I feel aren't needed but we'll see.
Questions:
Am I the only one that can't see avatars or smiley,wink,cheesy, etc...faces?
Am I missing something in my Profile?
I can see them for the message icon but not to place inside the posted text or above when typing out the message.

I see what you were talking about.
When posting, I see a string of "missing Icons"
Even the "missing" block was slow to come up.
Gives the feeling that the icons may be sized too large.
If the user was on a dial-up link it may have been way too slow.

Another thought, I agree with Tuicemen concerning the "need" for too many toys.
Might be better to keep the forum tilted toward technical help and support and less toward the fancy icons ?

Missing icons/graphics and general performance are things we'll need to address on the server/settings side of things. All of the other "icing" sort of features can be turned off pretty easily, though. I know my own personal preference is for fewer smilies and features like that, but we didn't want to disable anything from the start that people might want.

Good topic for a poll, Tuicemen. I'm curious to see what other users think.

The smilies/avatars problem should be fixed now. I think the other error should be corrected as well.

but my avatar still isn't showing under my usser name perhaps I need to redownload it or you don't have the personal avatar option fixed yet ???

Looks like the problem was in the URL of your Avatar -- I fixed it, but I'll check and make sure that the Avatar configuration is working OK.. Unfortunately, it also looks like Angelfire doesn't allow directly pulling images from their server. I'll see if I can put the image on our server and update your profile to make it work.

I noticed the option for avatars is missing in my profile now. Has that option been remove? ???
