Preference question/Manual module control status
« on: February 23, 2006, 08:27:56 AM »

In Macros there is a check box that asks "Issue on in place of 100%". I figure there are two commands one for simply on/off control and another for dimming. I'm having problems detecting a module(wall switch) being on however if it has been manually turned on. I use being on already as being a condition on what to do, seems this does not work correctly if it's turned on manually. I was wondering if I need to select the "Issue on..." box for this to work or do I need to somehow force some sort of module status poll to guarantee a correct result.
(btw, is any of this documented anywhere?)

Thanks

You need two way modules inorder to use the condition "if on/if off" that will catch a manual (local on/off) switching.
If it isn't a two way thats the problem! ;)

I'm using a WS467 and it doesn't say anywhere if it's a two way module or not so I suspect it's not :(.
Oh well gonna have to implement plan B.

Thanks

No X10 wall switches are two-way, and since they don't send a command when turned on or off manually, Activehome Pro and the CM15A can't track the change in status when that happens.
