SR227 & Active Home
« on: February 27, 2006, 04:00:00 PM »

Hi,

I just installed an outlet module SR227.  I can not control it from the Active home interface.  It seems to only work when I plug in a transceiver and use another remote.

Should Active Home Pro be able to control it?

You can't control it from the AHP Screen or a remote through the AHP cm15a Interface? If it is a remote through the cm15a. try making sure in tools; hardware configuration; tranceived house codes. The remotes house code is enabled.
If you can't control it from the screen. You may have a signal problem to that area of the home. Most are on a split phase and getting to the other half of the home sometimes is a problem. Try turning on a 220 volt appliance like a dryer or stove and see if it then works. Another problem could be a noise source or signal absorber. You may want to try unplugging things like TVs Stereos Comouters and see if it gets better. If it does you need an X10 Type Signal Filter for the item effecting the socket.

Its weird...from active home pro (CM15a) I can turn the switch on and off but nothing happens.  When I use a camera remote the light I had plugged into that outlet (SR227) does turn on & off, and the active home pro interface even turns on & off simultaneously.

The CM15a is relatively close to the SR227, about 15-20 feet away (down the stairs, its on my front porch).  I have another camera on my front porch that is running ok from Active home pro.

Remember the SR227 is an Appliance  Module and only one outlet is X10 controlled. The other outlet is normal. You cannot dim an appliance module, just turn it on and off. It will respond to timers.

Sounds to me like it is configured in AHP as a transiever if this is the case AHP only sends RF to the device which it can't react to since it has no RF capabilities.
Another problem could be noise or a phase isue check the "Having problem? readme first"  post, it has some links that may help. ;)
