i have to charge my nicad batteries for 5 hours..   i'd like to program my timer thru activehome to come on at a certain time and turn off 5 hours later.. i know how to do this.. my question is ...is this safe for the battery and is it safe for the Appliance Module?

I presume the charger is plugged into a regular outlet in your house.

You can plug an applicance module into the outlet, program a timer for it and it should not affect the module.

If this is car charger, you are out of luck.

thanks for the quick reply.. yes this is a standard wall wart type charger for in house.. good to know

Some low current wall warts may have trouble with an appliance modules local sensing current on the outlet. Most don't bus some do. If the wart still has a small amount of power on the charger when the module is off then the current maybe enough to keep it on slightly. Cure if needed. A power cube on the modules outlet with a small 4 or 7 watt night light on the cube as well as the chargers wall wart.
