Java SDK
« on: October 21, 2005, 01:27:24 PM »

Is there a Java-based version of the SDK?

Considering that X10 is used for remote
control and other security-sensitive
functions, and is often accessed over the
internet, it seems insanely risky to run any
X10 applications on the extremely easy to
hack Microsoft Windows.  Java would allow
running on Linux or other operating systems
that are more resilient and secure.

Since your post was in Oct-05, have you received an answer as of yet?

This is my first question, as well.  I can certainly make something work (i.e., put a "wrapper" around the Win commands here), but to do it right, we should be looking at something that might be a little more platform independent.  A .jar file would be nice.  :-)

If you check the SDK homepage, you will see that you can download four different Sample JavaScript programs that use the SDK.

Java is not JavaScript.
