Cant cut power to one camera

All of a sudden for some reason, I can not turn off one of my four cameras. It worked fine up til about a week or 2 ago. So I cant view my other cameras since the video signal from this one stays on the screen.

I do have a signal repeater wired into my breaker box, I checked it and the red light is flashing like it should.

What do you guys/girls think???

May be noise interferring with command to turn off camera. What have you got new or what have you re-located that could be making elecrical noise?

I thought of that, and we have got nothing new in the house.........Ill take another walk through the house and unplug un-needed stuff.

Anymore ideas?

did some more testing......I can control a Lamp Module Plugged into the same spot as where the camera would normally plug in.

Is it possible that the camera power supply is bad?

The camera works correctly (pans, tilts) I just cant turn it off!!!!!

Can you unplug its power supply? That should be the easiest way to turn off a camera that won't turn of by command. If that works you may have to renumber the remaining cameras to keep them working properly.

Yes the power supply may have failed. Since a Lamp Module in the same outlet can be controlled. Your X10 power line signal to the outlet is probably OK.

Try rotating the House Code and Unit Code dials on the power supply that does not respond. Long shot here, but one of the dials maybe dirty and the address has changed.

So this is a Ninja mounted camera? The ninja part (the pan, tilt part)... never turns off only the camera. And... please correct me if I am wrong.. the ninja unit is ONLY controlled by RF. So.. (if I assume correctly) this can't be a PLC problem... but a RF problem.

Is that a PLC repeater... or an RF repeater? Of course the PLC isn't effective with a Ninja... and the CM15A (or even CM19A) isn't effective with a (SR731) RF Repeater (It doesn't recognize them). So... I guess that would mean you've been using a remote control (CR14A)... are the batteries OK?

If you have been controlling the camera(s) with a CMXXA... you could elevate the unit (use an extention cord) or even do an antenna mod, on ether the 15A or 19A. The normal antenna mod performed on the CM15A wouldn't be helpful... you'll only need to expose the internal "sending" antenna. You can also modify the Ninja antenna to increase it's range.

Because I "Voice Command" my Ninja.. I don't want to risk accidentally scanning the yard so I plugged the Ninjas power supply into an appliance module.

The entire camera shuts off, the ninja part and the camera itself, it all runs off the same power supply, yes the ninja part uses RF and it works fine, but the PLC power supply is failing(I believe)

I dont use a remote.......I use AHP.

Then... I stand corrected. I was unaware of a PLC control associated with the Ninja. Maybe mine has the same failure.

The Ninja controls are run by RF, but the power is controlled by power line. We have actually see reports of one Ninja power supply missing a power line off command and two Ninja's following the same RF commands as both are on.

Yup, as others have, noted the PS could have gone south on you.

However even though you could control a Lamp Module in the same receptacle, there still is a tiny chance it is noise, IF your Lamp Module used to test with is a newer module (ramp ON, ramp OFF, Resume Dim, etc features).

The newer Lamp Modules also have AGC which makes them a little more resistant to noise. I do not believe the addressable camera supplies have AGC. So there is a slight possibility the Lamp Module would work even with line noise but the camera power supply would not.

If you don't have a signal meter, one way to test is to plug a transceiver into same receptacle as camera and see if you can now control it with a remote. (Or move the camera power supply to same outlet as CM15A or TM751, etc) or swap with another camera power supply you know is working.
