KR19A, it's impossible to change address
« on: October 08, 2006, 01:14:12 PM »

I tried to change address in my KR19A...
In manual:

To change the Housecode
• Press and hold the first (top) ON button. The red LED blinks once. 3 seconds later, the LED
blinks the current setting: 1 blink for Housecode A, 2 blinks for B..... 16 blinks for P.

But I tried to hold this button while 60 seconds.. but never a Led blinked !!!
I tried to remove a battery, but again impossible !
I tried to change a Unit Code, but a same problem !

Have you an idea ?

  • Battery not seated properly
    .
  • Battery DEAD
    .
  • KR19A defective

Until you remove, check the voltage of, and re-install the battery I can't say much more.

Does the LED illuminate in response to *ANY* of the 6 buttons being pressed?

That's good!  Earlier you stated that "I tried to remove a battery, but again impossible ! ".

Programming the KR19A is the same as programming your MS14A - there's a certain "timing " to it.  If your KR19A doesn't respond almost identically as your MS14A, I'd have to guess that it's defective (rare, but still possible).  :(

I found a real solution... Probably a new batch or made in a new shop !
A hint is hold a ON(1) and OFF(1) button in same time for begin to change a code, and press OFF(2) for save a new code !

Another user had a same problem 2 months ago... Check this link:
http://www.x10community.com/forums/index.php?topic=9657.0

So a solution for my KR19A is:
- Press and Hold the top ON and OFF buttons together.
-The Led will come ON and go OFF for approximately 2 seconds then come back ON
- release both the ON and OFF buttons.
- The Red led will remain ON.
- Press the Top ON(1) button(1) the number of times corresponding to the Code you want, ie:
- once for Code A
- twice for Code B
- three times for Code C
- the Led will blink off on each push of the ON button.
- When you have entered the correct number of ON button pushes to represent your required House Code, Push the Bottom OFF(2) button(2). The Red led will go OFF and programming is complete.
