Filters FWIW
« on: December 26, 2006, 09:58:21 AM »

Thought some of you might find this interesting.

I was in my hobby/computer room this past week attempting to eliminate some of the clutter by rearranging some of the electrical outlet strips. In the process I was able to eliminate a few of the surge protected outlet strips. When I was done it was late in the day but things looked a lot better. When I came down the next morning I found a few lights on that should have been turned off automatically by AHP. I also found that my keychain remote was not operating some of the devices that it had previously controlled. My first thought was that the CM15A had lost its programing so I downloaded it to the module again but the keychain remote was still not working. I could see the macros in AHP running but the output was not being executed (lights not turning on and off).

To make an already too long a story short, lets just say that the filtering in one of the outlet strips I eliminated was needed. In fact the surge protected outlet strip that powers most of my computers, monitors and other hardware needed to be plugged into a second outlet strip in order to get enough filtering.

Guess it is time for me to look into buying a few filters. ;)
