I have been going nuts trying to figure this out.
Why is AHP crashing every time I go into preferences?

This is what seems to fix the issue.

If you have installed AHP uninstall it following the x10 instructions, you can find them by searching the forum.

Install AHP but DO NOT INSTALL ANY PLUGINS YET!

Once AHP is installed run it and go to help>check for update.
Install the update and reboot

Now install your plugins and see if AHP still crashes when you go into preferences.

I hope this helps some people out, I have gone almost mad trying to fix this issue and this appears to work.
