Protecting a trailer can you use a power inverter?
« on: February 12, 2007, 06:51:30 PM »

I have a new trailer that I would like to protect. There are a lot of systems out there, some just for trailers. I have an X-10 that I used on my parents home and I would like to know if I can use it in the trailer with an inverter to power it. Has anyone out there done this? I like the wireless technology but a dedicated wireless system for the trailer is about 600 bucks. Any comments appreciated. Thanks!!

You'll need a Pure Sine Wave inverter!
Modified  sine wave inverters which are the most popular aren't X10 freindly in fact they can fry the modules! ::)
