Automation & Integration / ProntoPro NG
« on: May 05, 2005, 07:58:42 PM »

Before I spend way too much time trying to
make this work on my own, has anybody
integrated their AHP system into a
Pronto/Crestron/AMX/other autmation system?
My objective is to be able to control my
lights from my remote control however, as
cool as AHP is, I can't send any keyboard
shortcuts to the app and there's no IR
interface.  I'm planning on building an
interface using the SDK but if somebody's
already built one you could really save me a
lot of time and trouble.  Thanks!

David S: I use an X10 IR543 to accomplish
what you're trying to do.  I have a Pronto
NG TSU3000. I found IR codes on
www.remotecentral.com ro drive it. The only
drawback is that the IR543 only handles 1
housecode. There is a modified unit for
sale online, but I didn't have a need to
look into it.
Hope this helps.

This worked great!  If only Lutron made
things so simple...

David S: I'm really glad to hear that this
worked out for you. One other suggestion:
In AHP, pick a housecode that you want for
controlling things through your Pronto.
Then set the IR543 to that code. This way,
you can create a set of macros just for
that control and you can get more bang for
the 16 unit limit in the IR543.
Hope this helps.
