Activity Monitor ONLY please!
« on: May 28, 2005, 12:53:24 PM »

This subject I expect all to use for
discussing Activity Monitor Problems.
To start, What exactly is the AM supposed to
be monitoring? At what stage are items
recorded and how? Does the AM have to be
running minimized all the time to enter
activity of any kind?
I think that this will help in solving many
problems.
Why are actions recorded as 'Macro' if they
are not? Rf, Transmit?

There does seem to be some bugs in AM that
were to have been fixed since AHP 3.173 but
appear to be returning. The ig problem
might be in differentiating between
commands comming from a macro (RF/PLC) and
commands from other sources. Is it an out-
going macro RF or an RF remote command? AM
does not need to be running to record
events but AHP DOES. It should be recording
all events from macro, RF and PLC activity
whether they are incomming or outgoing.

Based on the activities I have tested I've
noticed two things that are not quite right.
First, the activity monitor states 'macro'
when a timer goes off.
Second, after a while the AM will not
display timer activity unless you boot your
computer.
Other than these two items, it seems to be
displaying as I think it should.  I would
like to know of any other problems.

My Activity Monitor stopped recording any
activity just after the last update (it ws
flaky for a while, not it won't work at
all), and I was told by X10 (e-mails to tech
support) that it should be fixed in the next
update. We hope to see tht this week, as of
the latest prediction.

We know that having a working and reliable
Activity Monitor is important to you guys,
and it's important to us. We have some
changes in the next update that should
correct the inconsistent behavior that users
like Noam and Richard have reported.

I have a glitch that I don't see listed, so
here goes...everything in the AM worked OK
for me until two days ago. Suddenly, Macro
activity no longer registers on the AM
whether it is "checked" in the drop down
menu or not. How soon will the update come?
I am using the AM to debug a new video
system and I need the macros to show up
when they are triggered.

I would like to know what the various
descriptions
like "macro",  "transmit",  "receive",  "RF",
etc. are supposed to mean.  When I click on
HELP in the Activity Monitor, I get a fatal
error. But if the HELP did actually display
help, I bet it wouldn't be of any use. Does
anyone have a list of meanings? The AM
should also indicate commands sent by the
CM15A and those from elsewhere.

Follow up on previous - I just got the
software update and nothing is really
better...my AM now only logs receive
events. Am I the only one with this
problem? All functions that I use actually
do work, but the AM is not logging anything
but receive events. If I trigger a Macro
from the PC, it does log transmit and
transmit RF events, but the acual macro
itself is not logged.

Mine worked for the first day, but stopped
working, too. I tried rebooting, but I won't
know until the morning if the reboot fixed
anything. Looks like we'll have to wait for
another update again for them to fix the
Activity Monitor.
