XM10E blinks off and comes on as power goes off PIC

Hi

I am working with an XM10E. It has been interfaced with a PIC microcontroller. The code running on the controller is supposed to transmit X10 codes continuously (i.e. running in a loop). The red LED on the XM10E blinks on and off continuously.  Many times however, it does not do this. The LED goes off instead as the microcontroller is powered and comes back on as power goes off the microcontroller. What can I do about this to make my system always reliable?

Since the XM10E is for European use only (it's not available in the US or Canada), I'm not sure you can get much help here.

Out of our entire community here I suspect no one has ever seen or used one.

Is there anything that can cause such problems with the common X10 modules available in the US? Are there forums for 220V 50Hz users? Again thanks for your response.

It sounds to me like your PIC isn't fully reseting.  You may need a capacitor arrangement on the reset pin to keep it from switching for a little while after power is applied.
