ActiveHome Pro Help
« on: October 23, 2007, 08:59:29 PM »

I am using ActiveHome Pro and have 2 questions:

1. The signal does not work on the other side on my house. How to fix this.

2. Just got rain8ii for x10.
Don't understand why I need rain8ii software if I have ActiveHome Pro.
Don't see an option on how to set an x10 house code.
Any assistance on how to set this up will be appreciated.

Thanks

The rain8 is by WGL Designs   http://www.wgldesigns.com/rain8.html  and is X10 compatible. It's a type of custom module that controls sprinklers.   Do you have sprinklers?

I'm not sure what module in AHP can be used to control it, but I'm sure someone here does.

As to your problem with half your house not X10 controllable,  you have 220 volt power and half your house is on one phase and half on the other.  The are couplers sold by X10 that will bridge the phases and allow X10 signals anywhere in the house. There is a cheap and easy way to bridge the phases, it uses a 0.1 uf 250 VAC CAPACITOR, available at many electronic stores, and an electric stove.  The capacitor is wired across the wires in the box the stove plugs into.  The capacitor draws no power and bridges the 2 phases.

After reading the info from the link Dan supplied I found this:
Quote
To configure the Rain8 you connect it to your computer (Windows or Mac) and run the configuration utility application. This allows you to define the X10 address zone assignments and set the operational mode. For maximum flexibility, once programmed you can run the Rain8 in two different operational modes
Once you have configured the rain8 using the software supplied, AHP can control it! ;)
You simply create phantom modules, use one  for each zone you have ( 1- 8 ), tell AHP that each phantom module is a simple appliance module.
Turning on that module should start the zone, turning off should stop it! ;)
