Active Home Pro HELP
« on: February 29, 2008, 07:44:04 PM »

This is the 3rd home i have used Active Home and i have problems.  I just ordered and received the system  a week ago.  It's the CM15A and i am using so far 1 LM465 lamp module.  It works fine with the program but i can't operate it with the HR12A palmpad.  Also i have 2 WS467 wall switches installed,  they will not turn on with the  programed time but they will shut off when programed.  I can also operate them with the remote.  With the Active home on my screen the wall switch's also show off.  This is an 1100 sq ft. home, the power transformer is on the pole about 400 feet away.  I have an electric water heater which is 220v.  i also turned the electric dryer on this see if the helps but makes no difference.  I have more i want to install but i want these working first.  what do i need to do now?  I also tried the set up over again.  I never had a problem with Active Home in the other homes.

Mike,

Welcome to the forum.

From the sounds of things you've already taken some initial troubleshooting steps (using a 220V appliance to couple the phases).  Since you tried this, I'm assuming that you do not have a phase coupler (correct)?

Before we get into the whole phase coupling/noise thing let's try a couple of easy tests -
  • Some modules do not like to brighten from an off condition.  In AHP, go to the "Tools" - "Preferences" - "Macro Options" window.  Place a check in the "send On in place of bright 100%" and save the program.  This will force AHP to send a single "ON" command in place of a series of bright commands.
  • Some of the newer WS467 and LM465 modules have new features and don't interface well to AHP.  Have a look at the following to determine if you have a "new" unit

  • Your palmpad problems could be due to either of the above, or you could be having RF reception problems.  Please review/post the AHP activity monitor to determine if the CM15a is "hearing" your palmpad.

Get back with your results - if the above doesn't improve things, we may need to roll up the sleeves and start the noise/coupling thing.
