i can access the cm15A and can add new timers which work ok for a while and then start going on earlier then set for. i cant change old timers, noting seems to take effect, ive deleted all timers and readded from active home pro. is this a sign the device is dying?

frankgar   You stated else where that you stepped up from the Cm11A serial port interface to this.
Did you import your Cm11 devices to AHP or did you manually set everything up?
Did you Update the program  without saving a backup AHX file?
Are you running the interface connected to the PC 24/7?
It sounds like your AHX file has become corrupt!

I have not been using the cm11a for several years now, i had replaced it with a cm15A. Problems started when my PC with XP died and replaced it with a vista PC. i subsequently installed the active home pro software on my XP laptop. i was able to access the interface an add some new timers and tired to update my old ones.
the new ones worked OK for a while and  now start 2 hours earlier and i cant make any changes to the old ones. Ive cleared out the interface and downloaded  to the interface several times to no avail.
my question is is my interface dying and should i replace it?l

Although it is possible the interface is on its last legs I'd tend to think it is the running on Vista giving you the problems!
Which version of AHP are you using?
You should have 3.228 or 3.236 for Vista.
AHP won't auto find version 3.236 so you'll have to manually download and install it! ::) :'
